What? We are looking for two interns, who want to actively support our EcoHostel in Spain.
When? The whole year for at least three months
Where? In Agaete, Gran Canaria
Manipa Hostel is an independent hostel that prides itself to be built in a traditional canarian house, close to many magic spots in Gran Canaria. The hostel is located in Agaete, one of the most beautiful towns in Gran Canaria. On top of its central location in the town, the hostel offers a young and laid-back environment, where guests and interns can feel at home.
The hostel is equipped with a spacious lobby, cozy lounge area, a shared kitchen and a terrace. The hostel is also committed to the promotion of ecological travel through several projects and promotion of the Canarian culture. Interns are needed to help the hostel work towards the achievement of these goals.
New ideas from interns on ways to achieve these goals are more than welcome. This is an excellent internship for those interested in hospitality and tourism. Interns will have the opportunity to gain professional experience in the hospitality industry and will learn how to manage a hostel while engaging with guests from all over the world. Internship tasks: We are looking for a hostel manager assistant to join our eco-friendly team. Interns will become an important reference point for guests and therefore will play an important role in ensuring clients enjoy their stay in Agaete.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming and assisting guests at reception (Check in/ Check out)
Accommodation organisation and housekeeping tasks.
Sorting recycling as part of the hostel’s ecological initiatives
Customer service: Attention to the needs of the guests
Planning and promoting all weekly different activities of the hostel
Photography and social network knowledge will be positively considered
Administrative and coordinative responsibilities in daily business
The hostel also encourages interns to offer their own creative ideas or suggestions to improve the hostel experience.
Please, take notes of the internship minimum requirements:
The project length requires a minimum of 3 months (all periods of the year available).
Total hours per week 20/30/40 depending on the internship requirements.
High level of independence, responsibility and flexibility
Motivation to work and strong work ethic
Good social skills
Good level of English and/or Spanish. Other languages a plus.
Proactive behavior and eco consciousness.

The internship is unpaid, that is why we support our intern with necessary documents for scholarships.
We are happy to help finding accommodation as well.
During the period of the internship, interns will have plenty of time to explore all that Agaete and Gran Canaria have to offer. Interns will have ample free time to hike, dive, surf or simply walk around.
